The President of IPDAL was present at the official dinner offered by the President of the Government of Madeira to the Prime Minister of Cape Verde. The dinner took place at Quinta Vigia, Residence of the President of the Government of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, on the 16th of September. Both Miguel Albuquerque and José Maria das Neves highlighted the role that Cape Verde and Madeira can play in the Atlantic Triangulation, between the American continent, Europe and Africa.

IPDAL participated in the Central American Independence Day celebrations at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. On September 15th, the Secretary General of IPDAL attended the protocol ceremony and participated in the remaining celebrations that served to celebrate the independence of the Union, which gave rise to the States of Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Filipe Domingues took advantage of his trip to the French capital to have a working lunch with the Ambassador (non-resident) of Nicaragua in Portugal, Ruth Tapia, and prepare the organization of Nicaragua Day in Portugal.
IPDAL and the Embassy of the Dominican Republic co-organized a conference on “The economic challenges of Latin America”, with Professor Carlos Quenan. IPDAL was once again present at the annual conference of the Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF), in Washington. Before finishing their respective missions in Lisbon, the Ambassadors of Uruguay, José Ignacio Korzeniak, and Italy, Renato Varriale, were honored with the IPDAL – Vista Alegre award. The head of Cabinet of the Vice-Prime Minister of Portugal considered that the State and Government are more effective thanks to institutions such as IPDAL. On July 22nd, the Institute held the IV Latin American Sunset Party, in Zambezi, and honored Dr. Madalena Fischer with the IPDAL – Vista Alegre Award. The President of IPDAL participated, at the Royal Palace of Madaglena in Santander, Spain, in a meeting on “Multilatina companies and their role in the development of Iberoamerican countries”. The conference was opened by former President Julio María Sanguinetti, of Uruguay. Paulo Neves had already been in Santander last year in this FIE initiative – Fundação Iberoamericana Empresarial – which takes place in parallel with a Summer University. IPDAL organized, on the 11th of July in the city of Funchal, a Business Forum to promote Latin American countries. The initiative took place at Expo Madeira and was co-organized by ACIF, the Madeira Business Association. The Ambassadors of Mexico and Paraguay were present. António Pires de Lima was present at the event organized by IPDAL and Caixa-Geral de Depósitos and visited the stands set up by Latin American embassies for business contacts.
