IPDAL supports a chain of Portuguese restaurants around the world

Project by the Hotel, Restaurant and Similar Association of Portugal, with the support of IPDAL and sponsored by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, was publicly presented.

On September 17th, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Luís Campos Ferreira, Ambassador Francisco Seixas da Costa, the President and Secretary General of IPDAL and the governing bodies of AHRESP were present at a press conference.
The main objectives of this Network of Portuguese Restaurants in the World are to stimulate the export of products of national origin and, according to the vice-president of AHRESP, Paulo Mendonça, “to reward professionals who keep Portuguese gastronomy alive” in the world.

This project will include accredited restaurants, which will become spaces for affirming Portuguese culture, through gastronomy and products of national origin. The Network intends to have global coverage, but will take its first steps in Macau and Brasília.

AHRESP considers that the restaurants that are part of this project will become “spaces for affirming Portuguese culture, through gastronomy and products of national origin. The Association argues that gastronomy is “a recognized cultural heritage built on history and tradition, which we must protect and promote. This project allows not only to implement these ideas, but also to boost the national economy and agriculture”.

IPDAL joined this initiative from the beginning, expressing its full availability to contribute to the success of the project.
