«There should be more “IPDAIS” for other regions of the world» wished the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, when presenting the IPDAL – Vista Alegre award.
On September 28th, IPDAL and Visabeira distinguished the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation for his work in strengthening relations between Portugal and Latin America.
Luís Campos Ferreira thanked the support provided by IPDAL in all the steps taken, in his capacity as governor, and argued that the Institute has always collaborated decisively with the Government of Portugal.

During his two years in office, Luís Campos Ferreira officially visited 11 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean (Paraguay, Venezuela, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Argentina, Brazil, Guatemala, Uruguay, Chile and Peru), participated in numerous Political Consultations and Mixed Committees, led business delegations, represented the Portuguese State at the inauguration of Presidents and received/participated in several official visits (from Heads of State, Foreign Ministers, Vice-Ministers, etc.) from Latin America to Portugal. On a cultural level, he was responsible for placing the statue of Luís de Camões in Havana (Cuba), organizing the exhibition celebrating 150 years of diplomatic relations with Mexico and holding a Fado concert in Guatemala.

Ambassadors and diplomats from Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia were present at this ceremony. The award ceremony took place in the garden of the Grémio Literário, immediately after the conference “The Pacific Alliance – Partnerships for Portugal”, organized by IPDAL and the prestigious law firm Uría-Menéndez – Proença de Carvalho.
