Paulo Neves was invited by ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics & Management to debate the topic “Latin America: Current Opportunities and Challenges”. On May 16th, at the invitation of António Mendonça, President of CEsA – Center for Studies on Africa, Asia and Latin America – and former Minister of Public Works, the President of the Institute also explained his vision on topics such as the international context current situation, the evolution from a bipolar world to a multipolar world, as well as the role that Portugal can play in the face of urgent challenges in Europe and the Atlantic.
IPDAL received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, who was on an official visit to Lisbon. On May 11, the President and Secretary General of the Institute met with the person responsible for Guatemalan foreign policy. It was Carlos Raul Morales’ first meeting on this visit to Portugal. At Grémio Literário, they talked about the bilateral relationship and specific initiatives to strengthen ties, at the highest level, between the two countries. The President and Secretary General of the Institute had a working meeting with Dr. Gustavo Cobreiro and the Cuban Ambassador to Portugal, Johana Tablada. The meeting, which took place on May 16, 2017, served to discuss the promotion of exchanges between Portugal and the University of Havana, taking advantage, on the one hand, of IPDAL’s knowledge in the academic, business and institutional spheres and, on the other , the University’s areas of specialty.
