III Ibero-American Meeting in Cascais

IPDAL and FIE bring together the Minister of Economy, six previous ministers from Portugal and Spain, the European Foreign Action Service, ambassadors and large Iberian companies.

With the aim of systematizing the main challenges that companies in both countries face and presenting joint solutions, the Institute and Fundación Iberoamericana Empresarial came together again, in a day of work in Cascais , some of the largest economic groups in both countries with the main political, financial, diplomatic, technological, academic and associative actors in Portugal.

The former ministers of Foreign Affairs Josep Piqué, Luís Amado and Trinidad Jimenez, of the Environment, Luís Nobre Guedes, of Public Works, António Mendonça, and of Social Communication, Daniel Proença de Carvalho, were present.

In the morning session, the topics that companies consider to be priorities for the EU-CELAC Summit agenda were identified. For this purpose, the representative of the European External Action Service was invited, who will be responsible for the business part of the summit.

During the afternoon, we reflected on the impact that the new global situation has on business and companies’ international objectives, particularly in terms of trade and investment.

The Minister of Economy Manuel Caldeira Cabral was the Guest of Honor at the dinner, where he explained the Government’s vision of the country’s position in the international context and the challenges of the near future.

Also present were the CEO of Millennium BCP , the main sponsor of the initiative, the former President of AICEP, Pedro Reis, the Director of External Relations of SEGIB , María Salvadora Ortiz. Cascais City Council hosted the initiative for the third consecutive year.
