President of IPDAL met with the General Secretary of SEGIB, Rebeca Grynspan, in Santander, on the sidelines of an academic meeting that took place at the Royal Palace of Magdalena. “The meeting served to develop some themes that have been ongoing since the Lisbon meeting where we established a program of joint activities”, said Paulo Neves. The President of IPDAL participated in the lunch hosted by the President of Repsol, which took place at the Royal Palace and where two members of the Spanish Government were present.
The President of IPDAL, Paulo Neves, met with the Spanish Secretary of State for International Cooperation and for Iberoamerica, Jesús Gracia Aldaz on July 11th at the Magdalena Palace. Paulo Neves also participated in a lunch offered to this member of the Spanish Government. Jesús Gracia Aldaz was invited to participate in the 4th Meeting of the “Latin America-Europe-Africa Strategic Triangle” organized by IPDAL in Lisbon.
Sebastián Pinera, former President of Chile, was the guest at a dinner hosted by CAF on July 10th in Santander, Spain. The dinner took place at the city’s Nautical Club and representatives of the largest Spanish banks and institutions participated. Paulo Neves, President of IPDAL, was also invited. IPDAL collaborated with SOFID, AICEP and GPEARI of the Ministry of Finance in organizing a seminar to promote the Inter-American Development Bank. IPDAL mobilized Latin American Ambassadors and a group of businesspeople to participate in this action, which took place on July 3rd. The Secretary General of IPDAL was captain of the Latin American team and one of the organizers of the World Football Championship for Embassies, in Lisbon. On Saturday, June 28th, a football tournament took place in Campo Pequeno that brought together diplomats from all over the world. Several members of the Latin American embassies came together as a single team and faced England, Italy and the United States. The organization provided all equipment, materials, food, drinks, chairs and shaded spaces for participants and families. The trophy for the “1st Diplomatic World Championship – Lisbon 2014” went to the Italian team.

The Institute for the Promotion and Development of Latin America presented the IPDAL – Vista Alegre Award to the Ambassador of Panama, Federico Richa.
