IPDAL expresses its condemnation and deepest condolences to the State and people of Haiti for the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse. Moïse, 53 years old, was shot at home on July 8, 2021, as was his wife, who survived. As early as February, the President of Haiti had received death threats. “Challenges of Multilateralism and Association Agreements” was the theme of the third edition of this original IPDAL initiative. IPDAL held a working meeting between the group of Latin American ambassadors and the Executive Director of the EU-LAC Foundation. In this initiative, Adrián Bonilla presented the foundation’s strategic vision to the diplomatic corps, which consists of promoting bi-regional ties between the European Union and Latin America. This dialogue is based on existing association agreements and those under negotiation, such as the EU-Mercosur agreement.
