The new Ambassador of Ecuador in Portugal, Diego Aulestia, was received by IPDAL. The presidents of the Board and General Assembly and the Vice-President of IPDAL were present at the protocol meeting. The meeting served to identify common points of interest between IPDAL’s Objectives and Initiatives and the new ambassador’s mission. Ecuador thus reopens the Embassy in Lisbon, closed many years ago. However, Ecuador has – since last year – a General Consulate in Lisbon. The President of IPDAL made a working visit to the United Nations, Haiti and the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. In Port-au-Prince, Paulo Neves visited the area most affected by the January 2010 earthquake. He held a meeting with the Cuban Medical Brigade – the largest external medical support organization in Haiti. IPDAL joined the Conference “Jobs in Brazil for Foreigners”, held this Sunday, March 25th, at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Around 300 people were present at this information session, which sought to answer questions from everyone interested in going to work in Brazil.
