IPDAL organized a meeting schedule in Lisbon for a group of young Latin American leaders, who study in Madrid. The students of Atlantic Institute of Government they were received at the European Maritime Safety Agency, the CPLP, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Assembly of the Republic, AICEP and Camões – Institute of Cooperation and Language. Head of State of Portugal visited the Institute’s space at the Diplomatic Bazaar, where IPDAL brought together more than 10 countries. The President of the Republic took the opportunity to praise the work carried out by IPDAL, congratulating the participation in the Bazaar and offering words of encouragement. The Institute organized, with the Office of the European Parliament in Lisbon, a conference dedicated to debating relations between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean. “Trade agreements are a necessary factor for the development of economies. IPDAL organized a forum with Latin American ambassadors and the main Azorean businesspeople. In collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ponta Delgada and Caixa Geral de Depósitos, the Institute organized a working session where Latin American diplomatic representatives presented their economies and the most relevant business opportunities for economic agents in the region . The Secretary General of IPDAL participated in the RIBEI conference dedicated to the theme “The Future of the Transatlantic Relationship”. Filipe Domingues presented the Institute’s vision on power relations and development between the North and South Atlantic, as well as on the geopolitical dynamics between the Atlantic and the Pacific. IPDAL delivered the policy paper with the conclusions of the VII “Strategic Triangle” to the European Commission and the European Parliament. On October 23rd, the President and Secretary General of the Institute were received at the representation of the European Commission in Portugal and at the Information Office of the European Parliament. IPDAL leaders delivered the VII “Strategic Triangle” policy paper to Portugal’s main sovereign body. IPDAL sponsored Professor Wilson Bezerra’s trip to Portugal. The translator and specialist in the work of the famous Uruguayan writer Horacio Quiroga participated in seminars and gatherings in schools and universities across the country. Thanks to the support of IPDAL, it was possible to publicize the work of the prestigious Uruguayan author to the Portuguese public, in spaces such as the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Camões – Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, Universidade Fernando Pessoa in Porto or the Agrupamento de Escolas José Relvas in Alpiarça. It was a collaboration between IPDAL and the Embassy of Uruguay in Portugal.
