The Institute for the Promotion and Development of Latin America was received by the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences at the Complutense University of Madrid, on the 10th of June. On the Somosaguas campus, José Antonio Sanahuja expressed great interest in IPDAL’s activities and the foundations were laid for reciprocal cooperation in future activities. The new Ambassador of the Dominica Republic in Portugal, Jaime Durán Hernándo, was received by the President of IPDAL, the Institute for the Promotion and Development of Latin America. The meeting took place in Lisbon, on the 3rd of June. The new Ambassador presented the Letters of Credentials to the President of the Portuguese Republic on May 31st. The former President of Colombia was in Lisbon to give a conference. On that occasion – May 19th – he gave a conference on “Emerging markets in Latin America”. The Embassy of Mexico, the Luso-Mexican Chamber of Commerce and Industry and BBVA hosted a reception in honor of Professor Boaventura de Sousa Santos. The Portuguese professor was recently honored by the President of Mexico with the 2010 Science and Technology Prize. The reception took place in Lisbon on March 24th.
