Connected continents: heads of international organizations from three continents meet for groundbreaking Lisbon Summit

The 13th annual edition of the leading event dedicated to transatlantic triangulation, South-South cooperation and multilateralism will take place at the Epic Sana Lisboa (Av. Eng. Duarte Pacheco 15). This influential meeting will bring together a distinguished list of speakers from the public and private sectors from around the world over two action-packed days.

Scheduled for May 15 and 16, 2024, the event aims to promote fundamental discussions that transcend geographical and political divisions, shaping the future of international relations between the continents. The agenda promises a series of high-impact panels, each dedicated to critical areas such as multilateral development banks, climate finance, artificial intelligence and the future of work.

The first day will open with remarks by Paulo Neves, President of IPDAL, followed by an insightful dialogue with leading figures such as Luis Almagro, Secretary General of the Organization of American States, and several leaders of the main global financial institutions. The sessions will address pressing issues, from the strategic implications of the G20 agendas in Brazil to innovative approaches to financing climate action in the Caribbean.

The following day, Andrés Allamand, Ibero-American Secretary General, will lead the main dialogue, accompanied by executives from the EU-LAC Foundation, the OEACP, the Andean Community, the CPLP and other key organizations. Discussions will focus on urban development, dissecting the EU’s Global Gateway strategy and exploring the dynamic role of SMEs in the evolving workforce landscape.

The conference will feature simultaneous interpretation in Portuguese, English and Spanish, ensuring an inclusive and inclusive communication environment for all participants. This initiative underlines Portugal’s commitment to strengthening multilateral ties and promoting sustainable development on all continents.
