The new Ambassador of Peru in Lisbon, Filipe Beraun, held a meeting with the President of IPDAL. At that meeting they spoke about the collaboration between this Diplomatic Representation and the Institute for the Promotion and Development of Latin America. The Secretary General of the Ibero-American Summit, Enrique Iglésias, will be in Portugal in October at the invitation of IPDAL and the Autonomous University. Enrique Iglésias will participate in a Seminar on regional integration in Latin America. Academics, politicians, ambassadors and representatives from various Latin American regional institutions will participate. At the end of November, the Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government will take place in Estoril. The new Ambassador of Chile to Portugal, Fernando Ayala, held a working meeting with the President of IPDAL on the 21st of July, in Lisbon. Both spoke about relations between Portugal and Chile and Chilean participation in the initiatives of the Institute for the Promotion and Development of Latin America. Fernando Ayala was Chile’s ambassador to Vietnam and Chief of the Chilean Protocol. In the coming days, he will present the Letters of Credentials to the President of the Republic.
On the 6th of July, the President of IPDAL participated in the Ceremony of placing a wreath at the statue of Simón Bolivar, on Avenida da Liberdade, in Lisbon. The ceremony, organized by the Venezuelan Embassy in Portugal, served to celebrate the country’s National Day. Several diplomatic representatives and other Latin American institutions were present.
Upon finishing her mission in Portugal – as Ambassador of Panama – it is only right for IPDAL to make public its deep gratitude to Ambassador Minerva Lara Batista for the way her Embassy has always collaborated with IPDAL. The reception took place at the Spanish Embassy on June 18th and served to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the House of Spain.
