President of IPDAL thanks IPDAL for support

During the presentation of the IPDAL – Vista Alegre Awards, Fernando Pinto referred to the importance of IPDAL’s efforts to open the company’s connections to Bogotá and Panama City.

The ceremony took place during IPDAL’s IX Anniversary reception, on January 22, 2015, at Grémio Literário.

The President of TAP also praised the Institute’s work in bringing Portugal closer to Latin America and recalled the formalized partnership between IPDAL and TAP, in 2014.

In addition to the airline, IPDAL also distinguished the Ambassador of Mexico in Portugal, Benito Andión, who leaves his post in Lisbon to take over as head of the Mexican diplomatic mission in Israel. Benito Andión has always demonstrated complete availability and interest in participating in the Institute’s activities, having achieved important contacts and partnerships.

Another of the winners was the Ambassador of Portugal in Bogotá, João Ribeiro de Almeida, for the extraordinary work of political, cultural and economic diplomacy he has carried out, but also for the unconditional support he provides to IPDAL’s business missions, both to Colombia and to the rest countries where it is accredited.

The Institute also decided to pay tribute to Professor Carlos Malamud, Principal Researcher at the Real Instituto Elcano de Madrid, for the important contributions he makes to the debate on Latin American reality and for the active role he plays in the interpretation and discussion of the continent’s political and historical phenomena.

The awards were presented in the presence of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Portugal.
