The Secretary General of the Institute carried out IPDAL’s first international trip since the beginning of the pandemic.

The agenda included working meetings with the most diverse local actors, including commitments of the following nature: political, diplomatic, business, associations, media, academic, sporting and humanitarian.
IPDAL visited a volunteer fire department near the capital Asunción, having made progress in establishing a protocol with a Portuguese counterpart that provides for training actions and donation of materials.
The visit included meetings with senior representatives from different political parties, as well as meetings with companies and associations in the agri-food sector, with a view to transferring knowledge and technology between both sides of the Atlantic.

The Secretary General of the Institute was also invited to several interviews, on radio, television and local press, having met with previous Paraguayan ambassadors in Lisbon.
A trip was made to the city of San Bernardino to boost tourism, gastronomy and promote exchanges with Portuguese municipalities. A visit to a rugby field was also carried out, followed by a meeting with the club’s directors with a view to preparing a tour between Portuguese and Paraguayan teams.

The visit ended with a technical visit to an agricultural holding with export capacity.
