The President and Secretary General of the Institute were received by the new leader of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), Maria do Carmo Silveira.
On January 18th, IPDAL leaders had the opportunity to present the activities, history and mission of the Institute to the newly arrived Executive Secretary. The highlight was naturally the “Latin America Meeting – CPLP”, which is in its third edition this year, and the VI Strategic Triangle: Latin America – Europe – Africa.
CPLP has participated in these initiatives at the highest level and its presence is considered fundamental. For the CPLP, these are essential platforms for promotion with other international actors.
It should be remembered that IPDAL has been, since 2016, a CPLP Advisory Observer.
Maria do Carmo Trovoada Pires de Carvalho Silveira is a native of São Tomé and Príncipe, she was Prime Minister of the country between 2005 and 2006, Minister of Finance and Governor of the Central Bank.
