On an official visit to the Azores, the delegation was also received by the Representative of the Republic and the Mayors of Ponta Delgada and Angra do Heroísmo. On December 3rd, the Ambassadors of Latin America, accompanied by the President and Secretary General of IPDAL, began an Official Visit to the Autonomous Region of the Azores. On the island of São Miguel, the delegation was received in audience by the President of the Government Azores Region and later by the Mayor of Ponta Delgada. A Business Forum was also held, with the support of Caixa Geral de Depósitos, in order to raise awareness of the investment potential that lies in these countries and clarify possible doubts of Azorean businesspeople regarding the business environment in Latin America.

On the 5th, the Ambassadors and IPDAL began their agenda on Terceira Island, having been invited by APAVT – Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies – for a lunch with the Secretary of State for Tourism. Subsequently, the delegation was received by the Mayor of Angra do Heroísmo and attended the official opening of the XXXIX National Congress of APAVT.
At the Congress, IPDAL organized a stand to promote Latin American countries, which was inaugurated by the Ambassadors, the Secretary of State for Tourism, Adolfo Mesquita Nunes, and the President and Secretary General of IPDAL.
The Ambassadors were also invited by the Representative of the Republic for lunch at the official residence. A second Business Forum was held on Terceira Island with the same purpose of clarifying businesspeople’s doubts and encouraging investment interest in Latin America.
The Official Visit ended on December 7th, and was marked by high interest from institutional authorities, businesspeople and the press in the Azores.
