II MEETING FOREIGN POLICY AND STRATEGIC THINKING

For the second consecutive year, Casa de Santa Maria, in Cascais, attended the meeting of the main opinion makers nationals at the “Foreign Policy and Strategic Thinking Meeting”.

The main experts in international relations were accompanied by a generation of emerging talents who on the first day attended the work and on the second took a seat at the table to debate and present their vision on the role of Portugal and the European Union in the world.

During the two days of work, priorities and proposals for Portuguese foreign policy were presented, anchored in two questions: what should be Portugal’s priorities in the European Union and the European Union’s priorities in the world, focusing on valuing Portugal’s role as a builder of connections between different players global markets such as China, Africa, Latin America and Europe.

As in the previous edition, the conclusions of the discussion will be compiled in a policy paper which will be presented to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The initiative had the support of Cascais City Council, Cascais Tourism and the Office for Spain and Portugal of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
