With the appointment of Antonio Rivas, there are now three ambassadors who received the IPDAL-Vista Alegre award and who are Ministers of Foreign Affairs.

Jorge Faurie was ambassador of Argentina between 2002 and 2013, holding the position of MNE of Argentina since 2017. Nestor Popolizio was ambassador of Peru from 2011 to 2013, being Minister of External Relations since 2019. Antonio Rivas Palacios was Chargé d’Affaires of Paraguay between 2000 and 2006, having been responsible for opening the diplomatic mission in Lisbon. Rivas had already been Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs on two occasions and took office as Minister this Wednesday, 31 July 2019.

IPDAL has always maintained a first-time collaboration with the three diplomats, with whom it carried out various institutional, business, academic and cultural initiatives. The excellence of the partnerships established led the Institute to distinguish them, at the end of their missions in Portugal, with the IPDAL – Vista Alegre Award, the most important national honor for personalities who stand out in strengthening relations between the country and the Latin region. -American.
