PRESIDENT OF IPDAL RECEIVED BY THE URUGUAIAN MINISTER OF EDUCATION

The visit of the President of the Institute to Latin America ended with a stop in Uruguay, where Dr. Paulo Neves maintained a schedule of meetings with the country’s Government and civil society.

The President met with the Minister of Education and Culture, Pablo da Silveira, in Montevideo, where he also had a meeting with officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Topics of common interest were discussed, such as the Mercosur-European Union Agreement.

In addition to the central power, the President of IPDAL met with representatives of local governments, having visited Colonia del Sacramento, where he met with the city’s Intendant, who have a close connection to the Portuguese presence in South America.

During his stay in Uruguay, the President of IPDAL had the opportunity to meet Nicolás Albertoni, a university professor, with whom he discussed various current international political issues, with a focus on relations between Europe and Latin America.

He also held a meeting with Agustín Iturralde, President of the Uruguayan think tank Center for Development Studies.
