President of IPDAL in Washington

The President of the Institute participated, at the invitation of CAF and The Dialogue, in the bank’s annual meeting.

At the Washington conferences, the economic, social and political situation of Latin American countries was discussed. It was announced that the predicted growth for the region is 2% for this year and 2.2% for 2019.

Another highlight was the stabilization of the rate at which poverty has declined and attention was drawn to fiscal and budgetary issues, as of the 33 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, only one does not have a fiscal deficit.

The issues of productivity, quality of education, justice, corruption and bureaucracy continue to be identified as some of the biggest challenges in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The President of IPDAL also took the opportunity to hold several meetings on the sidelines of the Meeting.
