Latin American Ambassadors visit Madeira and Porto Santo

The Institute for the Promotion and Development of Latin America took a delegation of ambassadors from Latin America, on an official visit, to the Madeira archipelago.

Between the 11th and 14th of May 2013, a group of Latin American ambassadors and diplomats held a series of institutional, business and cultural contacts in the autonomous region of Madeira. The cities of Funchal and Porto Santo were visited, and the delegation was received by the President of the Regional Government of Madeira, the Vice-President, the President of the Regional Assembly, the Representative of the Republic, the President of the Chamber of Funchal and the President of the Chamber from Porto Santo.

The main moment of contact with companies was the ACIF-IPDAL-CGD Business Forum, which brought together Madeira’s main businesspeople. Read more here .

During the four days, Paulo Neves, President of IPDAL, highlighted the business opportunities that exist between one of the most advanced regions in terms of infrastructure in the country and the Latin American region.

The delegation also had the opportunity to visit some of the most historically and artistically emblematic places, to discover the most relevant cultural events and also to explore some of the region’s unmissable natural riches.

This is the sixth consecutive year that IPDAL takes Latin American Ambassadors on an official visit to regions of Portugal. This successful formula, found by the Institute, will continue throughout 2013.
