The Institute supports the opening of the “Frida Miranda” exhibition, inspired by the iconography of two of the main Latin American artists of the 20th century.

On March 8, 2017, Women’s Day, the opening of the original and unprecedented exhibition, by Portuguese artist Ana Mesquita, took place. Several ambassadors and diplomats from Latin America, the Minister of Internal Administration of Portugal and mayors were present.

IPDAL joined this artistic moment, which aimed to publicize a new vision of Frida Kahlo and Carmen Miranda and the impact that the imagination and genius of each of them built on the international artistic scene.

The paintings were exhibited at the National Museum of Natural History and Science.
