IPDAL sponsors Uruguay concert

Pianist Polly Ferman was in Lisbon, at the invitation of the Institute, for a concert as part of Uruguay Week in Portugal.

On the 6th of March, at the Ajuda National Palace, the concert in honor of the Centenary of Tango “La Cumparsita” took place, a work created by the Uruguayan musician Gerardo Matos Rodríguez. It was a recital with habaneras, milongas and tangos.

The concert, organized by the Embassy of Uruguay with the support of IPDAL, was attended by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, several ambassadors from Latin America, Asia, Africa and Europe. It was the culmination of the first day of activities of the Week dedicated to promoting Uruguayan culture, economy and traditions in Portugal.

Polly Ferman lives in New York and is one of Uruguay’s main performers today, considered by critics “Musical Ambassador of the Americas”.
