The Institute directly supported the organization of the 2nd AR – Argentine Cinema Festival, in Lisbon.

IPDAL offered the festival’s opening cocktail and guaranteed the trip of the prestigious Argentine director Eugenio Canevari, author of the acclaimed film “Paula”. The Institute thus strengthened its commitment to promoting Latin American arts in Portugal, bringing the two cultures closer together and spreading the forms of artistic and identity expression of the Latin American genius in our country.
In the second edition of the festival dedicated to the new Argentine cinema, stories of urban, rural and even fantastic daily life were shown, revealing various political, economic and social issues that emerge from contemporary society.
The festival showed ten new feature films, eight fiction films and two documentaries, as well as four short films.
The event took place between the 29th of June and the 3rd of July, at the São Jorge cinema.
