IPDAL co-organized, with the Vendas Novas City Council and the Colombian Embassy, the “Business Opportunities in Colombia” initiative.

On the morning of April 19, 2016, a business forum took place where the Ambassador of Colombia, Germán Santamaría, the President of the Câmara de Vendas Novas, Luís Carlos Dias, the Secretary General of the Institute, Filipe Domingues, and the person responsible by the ProColombia office in Portugal, Diana Caicedo.

The municipality’s main companies were able to attend the presentation of numbers, facts and concrete business and investment opportunities in the country, as well as discuss some of the most relevant aspects for companies that want to export or invest in Colombia. The General Director of the Alentejo Regional Development Agency (ADRAL), Rui Barroso, was also invited to close the meeting.

At lunch, the most relevant businesspeople from Vendas Novas gathered, who were able to learn more about the reality of the Colombian economy. During the afternoon, visits were made to the Karmann Ghia factory, a large company dedicated to the automobile and aeronautical sector, and to Herdade da Ajuda, a producer of nationally recognized wines.
