The Ambassador to Portugal, Johana Tablada de la Torre, was the speaker at the conference “The United States Policy towards Cuba, the Longest Chapter of the Cold War”, organized by IPDAL.
The initiative, carried out in partnership with the Observatório Político and Universidade Lusíada, had a full room to hear the diplomat speak about the historical relations, encounters and disagreements between the two countries, since the Cuban war of independence.
The conference came as part of the approval by the UN General Assembly of a new resolution calling for the end of the economic, commercial and financial embargo, imposed by the USA 54 years ago.
On November 13th, the Cuban Ambassador to Portugal also made a point of highlighting the good relations between Havana and Lisbon and the commitment they share with the African continent, as was proven in the recent meeting organized by IPDAL between the Ambassadors of Latin America and those of the CPLP.
