IPDAL contributed to the initiative “Let’s put Sequeira in the right place”, promoted by the National Museum of Ancient Art (MNAA).

For the President of IPDAL, “the basic values of the Institute are precisely those of promoting a great cultural heritage and defending a very valuable identity heritage. This contribution is nothing more than our obligation. Institutions with the philosophy and idiosyncrasy of IPDAL have a duty to support these types of causes, which in addition to presenting themselves as genuinely noble and altruistic, aim to strengthen the relationship of all Portuguese with our artistic heritage.”

The objective of this campaign is to make public the work “Adoração dos Magos” by Domingos Sequeira, a Portuguese painter from the late 18th and 19th centuries. The painting is currently in the possession of a private collector.
This is a pioneering initiative in Portugal and aims to raise €600,000 so that the MNAA can acquire this work and integrate it into its collection. On April 15, 2016, the campaign had already managed to raise more than 85% of the funds.
