The Secretary General of SEGIB, the former President of Costa Rica Laura Chinchilla, the Minister of Economy of Portugal, the former President of the General Assembly of the United Nations Diogo Freitas do Amaral and the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain Josep Piqué were some of the participants of the IV Meeting “Strategic Triangle: Latin America – Europe – Africa”.
On the 16th and 17th of April, IPDAL once again brought together the greatest experts and main decision-makers in the Ibero-American space, who analyzed and discussed the framework of Atlantic relations and presented proposals for improvement, in five panels: Parliamentary Diplomacy; Innovation, Science and Higher Education; Energy, Infrastructure and Logistics; Cooperation and Development; Business and Financial Institutions.

Also present at the Hotel Double Tree by Hilton, in Lisbon, were State Councilor Luís Marques Mendes, the candidate for the Presidency of the Republic of Portugal Henrique Neto, the former Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications António Mendonça, the vice-president of the Assembly of the Republic António Filipe, MEP Francisco Assis, deputies Paulo Pisco, Maria de Belém, Feliciano Barreiras Duarte and Ricardo Baptista Leite, researcher and opinion maker Bernardo Pires de Lima, among several others.

Some of the participating institutions and companies were: OECD, United Nations FAO, World Bank IFC, Corporación Andina de Fomento (CAF), Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Camões – Institute of Cooperation and Language, Visabeira, TAP, Porto de Sines, ISCTE-IUL, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Rangel and International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory.

The “Strategic Triangle: Latin America – Europe – Africa” Meetings are the main platform for political and business dialogue on the Atlantic, in Portugal and took place, for the fourth consecutive year, in Lisbon.
