On 29 October, the Institute for the Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (IPDAL) organised a Dialogue Session with the participation of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Ana Isabel Xavier, bringing together Ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of Latin American countries accredited to Portugal.
The initiative provided Latin American diplomatic representatives with an opportunity for direct dialogue with the Secretary of State, allowing them to exchange views on relations between Portugal and the region, as well as share perspectives on the challenges and opportunities shaping the current international landscape.
The meeting served as a platform for engagement and reflection between diplomatic representatives and Portuguese institutions, encouraging discussion on matters of common interest and contributing to stronger relations of cooperation and understanding between Portugal and Latin American countries.
During the session, the Policy Paper resulting from the fifth meeting of the Foreign Policy and Strategic Thinking initiative (EPPE), developed by IPDAL, was also presented. The document brings together a set of recommendations for Portuguese foreign policy, reflecting the analysis and debate carried out within the framework of this initiative.
This Dialogue Session forms part of IPDAL’s mission to strengthen ties between Portugal and Latin America by promoting diplomatic dialogue, institutional cooperation and opportunities for reflection among the various actors involved in international relations.
