
President of the Institute launched IPDAL’s next challenges, at the 13th anniversary reception.
Paulo Neves argued that “IPDAL is strategic for Portugal” and that it is, increasingly, a global institution, with the duty to articulate interests and generate knowledge about the main global actors.
In front of ambassadors from Latin America, Africa, Europe and Asia, representatives of the Civil House of the President of the Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, international institutions and large companies, the President of IPDAL presented the Institute’s next three major initiatives for 2019. Paulo Neves also made a point of highlighting that, despite the increased scope of activities, themes and geographic areas involved in IPDAL, Latin America will continue to be the focus of the Institute’s activity

In addition to the reception for the Diplomatic Corps and Friends of the Institute, on January 17th, the IPDAL – Vista Alegre awards were also presented to the Ambassador of Colombia in Portugal and to the previous Executive Secretary of the CPLP – Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries.

Ambassador Carmenza Jaramillo highlighted the close collaboration she has always maintained with IPDAL and which has enabled her to have a greater capacity to work in Portugal, having also built lasting bonds of friendship.
Dr. Maria do Carmo Silveira highlighted the importance of Latin American countries for the CPLP and the role that IPDAL has played in placing the values and interests of the Portuguese language on the agenda of the Latin American region.
