Ipdal Launches Think Tank

The Institute held the first meeting of the “IPDAL Academy”.

The project was presented to members in a virtual session, on March 25, 2021, in which association leaders, university students, young leaders and representatives of civil society organizations gathered.

The Academy is an independent center for analysis and discussion of current international issues, with two main objectives: to create a space of convergence for young Portuguese speakers, where they can meet and share their ideas; and, at the same time, give them access to a global platform of experts, businesspeople and public decision-makers, who are already part of IPDAL’s network of contacts, and who will be regular guests of talks to be organized by the Academy.

It is an autonomous think tank of the Institute, which will use Portuguese-speaking thinking to discuss global issues and to publish reports, studies, briefings and its own content.

Using the global reach of the Portuguese language – as its main work tool and as a vehicle for affirming its institutional identity – the Academy aims to establish itself as a forum for transatlantic collaboration between future leaders from the public and private, academic and scientific sectors.

The IPDAL Academy will organize public debates, book launches and discussions and public events, creating, under the banner of Lusofonia, a space for analysis and understanding of world events with a transatlantic perspective.
