Following the recent earthquakes in the country, the Institute sent messages of condolence to the Ecuadorian authorities.
The President of IPDAL expressed total solidarity with “a country and a people for whom we have so much admiration and friendship” and assured that “we closely follow the successive news about the local situation”.
On April 20, Paulo Neves wrote that “our hopes are that the recent events can, in some way, be overcome and that normality quickly returns to the lives of all the Ecuadorian people. We are confident that the country will find the strength to rise again and that the international community will unite around this cause.”
The President of IPDAL also expressed the Institute’s full availability to support the victims of the earthquake.
The letter was received by several political and diplomatic authorities in the country.
