IPDAL holds lunch with President of the Assembly of the Republic

At the invitation of IPDAL, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Portugal agreed to meet with the ambassadors of the 13 Latin American countries with diplomatic representation in Portugal.

At the lunch held on May 25th, a clear message was conveyed: the second figure of the Portuguese State led a robust institutional demonstration of friendship for Latin America, at the same time that recognition was confirmed by the most influential spheres of governance national, of the growing global weight of a group of nations that, on the one hand, are more similar to us than, for example, Latvia or Greece, and that, on the other, have recently experienced crises similar to ours.

In fact, this was only the second meeting of the President of the Assembly of the Republic with a group of ambassadors, right after those from the European Union. At lunch with the Latin American ambassadors, Dr. Assunção Esteves proudly assumed her “Latinidad” and praised the exchange of brains and qualified professionals from one side of the Atlantic to the other. In the words of Dr. Assunção Esteves, to chart the path to prosperity, “we need realism and magic – this magic is what happens when we sit at the table, so that the world advances through our hands.” More photos at
