It was as a Consultative Observer of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) that IPDAL attended the work of the colloquium on “Portuguese-Based Creoles”.

The initiative was attended by ambassadors and diplomatic representatives from CPLP and Observer countries, as well as Portuguese and foreign academics who are dedicated to research and preservation of this linguistic heritage.

At the Colloquium – which marked the end of the Portuguese Language and Culture Day Celebrations at CPLP – native speakers of Creole participated, testifying to the living presence of the various “Creoulophone” communities spread across the African and Asian continents.
