The President of the Institute was in New York, at the oath of the United Nations Charter by the elected Secretary-General, António Guterres. On December 12th, Paulo Neves attended the ceremony where the inauguration of the former Prime Minister of Portugal as leader of the United Nations was formalized.

The President of IPDAL was also invited to the reception hosted by the President of the Republic of Portugal in honor of António Guterres. On this occasion, which took place at the United Nations headquarters, the current Portuguese Prime Minister, UN representatives and senior officials, numerous international delegations and ambassadors from around the world were also present.
