IPDAL and Mafra City Council organize, with the support of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center, the Australian and Canadian Embassies and the Luso-American Development Foundation, the II «Mafra Dialogues: Strategic Dialogues and Peace Diplomacy» .
The second edition of «Mafra Dialogues» will be dedicated to themes of Women, Peace and Security; Youth, Peace and Security and the great global challenges to peace, such as the war in Ukraine.
This initiative, which will take place on the 21st and 22nd of April, will feature the participation of His Excellency the President of Colombia Iván Duque; the Minister of Defense of Brazil, General Paulo Nogueira de Oliveira; the Minister of Defense of Portugal, Helena Carreiras; the Minister of Defense of Uruguay, Javier García; the Assistant Secretary General for Support Peacebuilding, Elizabeth Spehar; the 1996 Nobel Peace Prize winner, José Ramos-Horta and the Chief of Staff of United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Susana Malcorra.
There will also be present international institutions of relevance in the area of preventive diplomacy and peacebuilding, such as the G7+, Amnesty International, the Institute for Economics and Peace , O Institute for National Defense and Security Research and the Military University Institute.
