The Casa Museu de Santa Maria, in Cascais, was the setting for the 1st Meeting on Foreign Policy and Strategic Thinking, an unprecedented initiative by IPDAL that brought together the main experts in the field of international relations with a new generation of talents.

Over two days of work, several priorities for Portuguese foreign policy were presented, from sectors to prioritize to new countries to approach for strategic partnerships. The diversity of speakers allowed a wide spectrum of possibilities for Portugal to assert itself on the international scene.

The main political parties were also present to present the work developed in the field of external relations: Deputy Ivan Gonçalves and Ludgero Glórias represented the PS and JS, while for the PSD the Secretary General Hugo Soares was present and for the JSD the Relations Coordinator International João Cerejo dos Santos.

The conclusions of the discussion will be gathered in a policy paper that will later be presented to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The initiative had the support of Cascais City Council and Cascais Tourism.
