On October 11th, a Conference on the life and current affairs of Simon Bolivar took place at the Autonomous University of Lisbon. The Conference was organized by UAL and IPDAL.

The speakers were: Fernando de Las Casas – General Director of SEGIP -, the Mexican writer Jorge Luis Volpi and the Ambassador of Panama in Portugal Federico Richa. There were 140 people present in the UAL auditorium.

The conference was moderated by professor Nancy Gomes. The opening of the Conference was in charge of the Director of UAL, Professor Miguel Faria and the President of IPDAL, Professor Paulo Neves. Several Latin American ambassadors were present
