IPDAL offers its deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Mário Soares.

Mário Soares was one of the greatest Portuguese statesmen of the 20th century.

He was one of those responsible for the institutionalization of Democracy and Freedoms in Portugal. During his political life, he defended and increased Portugal’s relations with Latin American countries. He also denounced Latin American totalitarian regimes.
