COLOMBIA GUEST COUNTRY AT THE XIII TOURISM FORUM "PORTUGAL - LATIN AMERICA"

The XIII edition of IPDAL’s oldest business initiative brought together the Secretary of State for Tourism, Commerce and Services with the Ambassadors of Latin America and the main agents of Portuguese and Latin American tourism to discuss the recovery of the sector.

The Ambassador of Colombia, Alejandro Zaccour, took the opportunity to highlight the tourist potential of the guest country, with a diverse range of regions to visit.

Flavia Santoro, President of ProColombia, and Natalia Bayona, Director of Innovation at the World Tourism Organization, presented their institutions’ priorities, with a common focus on the sustainability of tourism.

The event also featured interventions by Cristina Siza Vieira, Executive Vice-President of the Portuguese Hotel Association; Pedro Costa Ferreira, President of APAVT; Manuela Barber, Commercial Delegate for Portugal at Iberia; and Hélia Gonçalves Pereira, Rector of the European University.

The main points of the discussion focused on the adaptation of the sector, the sustainability of the activity and how to strengthen tourist connections between Portugal and Latin America.

The Ambassadors and other members of the diplomatic corps also explained the state of tourism in their respective countries.

The work was closed by the Secretary of State for Tourism, Rita Marques, followed by a Colombian cocktail, prepared by chef Manuel Martínez.

The event took place on July 7th, at the Lux Lisboa Park Hotel, and was supported by the Colombian Embassy, Iberia and the European University.
