The President of the Institute, Paulo Neves, received the insignia of the Order of Rio Branco, in the rank of Grand Officer, at a lunch hosted by the Ambassador of Brazil, Raimundo Carreiro.

The distinction, the highest award given by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was due to the “relevant services provided in favor of Portuguese-Brazilian friendship and cooperation”.
