Antonio Guterres, Portuguese candidate for Secretary General of the United Nations, received the President of IPDAL on March 16th.

After the meeting, Paulo Neves stated that he conveyed his encouragement to the former United Nations Commissioner for Refugees in his candidacy for the most important position at the UN. According to Paulo Neves, “the engineer António Guterres has the ideal profile to occupy the position of Secretary General of the United Nations. Has a CV and profile. We must all commit to his candidacy.” António Guterres accepted IPDAL’s invitation to meet with Latin American ambassadors accredited in Portugal and to participate in the V Meeting of the “Latin America-Europe-Africa Strategic Triangle”, an IPDAL initiative that will take place in May in Lisbon .
