At the invitation of IPDAL, a delegation of diplomatic representatives from Latin American countries visited the port of Sines.

The aim of the visit was to deepen knowledge about one of the most important port infrastructures in Europe. One of the topics discussed during the meeting was the widening of the Panama Canal, which, from 2014 onwards, will redesign all international maritime traffic, where the port of Sines assumes a strategic location, as Europe’s Atlantic Gateway.
Due to its physical, geographical and productivity characteristics, diplomats find the port of Sines an excellent opportunity to foster commercial relations between their countries and Europe. Remember that the Port of Sines already offers a direct weekly connection with South America, which touches ports in Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina.
