4th AFRICA XXI

With the support of the Office for Spain, Italy and Portugal of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, IPDAL held the fourth edition of the annual conference dedicated to Africa.

This fourth edition was attended by the President of the Autonomous Government of Príncipe, Filipe Nascimento, one of the youngest African heads of government. The vision of Lusophone Africa was not forgotten, with the participation of Vítor Ramalho, Secretary General of the Union of Portuguese Speaking Capital Cities (UCCLA).

Topics such as energy cooperation in the Mediterranean, female leaders in Africa and the role of climate change in migratory phenomena were also discussed.

Some of the most renowned think tanks and institutions working on the continent participated in the event, such as the Institut Royal des Études Stratégiques (IRES), Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) and Mo Ibrahim Foundation.

The initiative, organized by IPDAL, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation and the European University, had the support of IRES, Grupo Azevedos and Mota-Engil.
