On April 22, the 11th edition of the ALC–CPLP Meeting took place, organized by IPDAL in partnership with CPLP – the Community of Portuguese Language Countries. The initiative was dedicated to promoting trade, investment, and cooperation for sustainable development between Latin America, the Caribbean, and Lusophone countries.
The event was attended by ambassadors from CPLP countries and from Latin America and the Caribbean, establishing itself as a relevant platform for strategic dialogue between the two regions, in a global context where multilateral cooperation is increasingly important.
In the opening session, Paulo Neves highlighted the role of interregional dialogue in creating economic opportunities and strengthening relations between ALC and CPLP countries. Fátima Monteiro Jardim also emphasized the importance of deepening institutional and economic cooperation, expressing interest in developing further joint initiatives in the future and reinforcing the commitment to a shared agenda.
José Frederico Ludovice underlined the strategic potential of coordination between Ibero-American and Lusophone multilateral spaces, while Armando Santos stressed the role of the financial sector in supporting business internationalization and facilitating investment between the two regions.
During the session dedicated to trade and investment, concrete opportunities to boost trade flows, develop value chains, and strengthen business partnerships were discussed.
This meeting thus reaffirms itself as a key moment for consolidating bridges between Latin America and the CPLP, promoting a shared vision of sustainable development and economic cooperation, and reinforcing IPDAL’s role as a driver of international dialogue and cooperation.
