In the context of its participation in the 50th National Congress of APAVT, the Portuguese Institute for the Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (IPDAL) held a series of strategic bilateral meetings with institutional stakeholders, reinforcing its role in promoting dialogue, international cooperation and economic diplomacy.
Among the meetings held, particular note should be made of IPDAL’s meeting with Banco Nacional Ultramarino (BNU), represented by Carlos Cid Álvares, President of the institution, which focused on the role of financial institutions in supporting economic cooperation and investment in international contexts.
IPDAL also met with the International Institute of Macau, represented by its President, Jorge A. H. Rangel, and its Secretary-General, António Monteiro, in a dialogue aimed at strengthening institutional cooperation and highlighting Macau as a strategic platform linking Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Within the framework of multilateral cooperation, a meeting also took place between IPDAL and the Macau Forum, represented by Ji Xianzheng, Secretary-General, Danilo Afonso Henriques, Deputy Secretary-General, and Márcia Cordeiro Guerreiro, Portugal’s Delegate. These exchanges enabled a deeper discussion on the Forum’s role as a mechanism for fostering closer ties between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as the identification of areas of common interest and future synergies.
These bilateral meetings contributed to strengthening institutional contacts, identifying cooperation opportunities and consolidating IPDAL’s presence in strategic spaces for international dialogue, underlining its commitment to promoting lasting partnerships and multilateral diplomacy.
