The Portuguese Institute for the Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (IPDAL) took part in the 50th National Congress of the Portuguese Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (APAVT), held from 1 to 5 December in Macau, as part of the celebrations marking APAVT’s 75th anniversary.
Under the theme “75 Years Looking to the Future”, the Congress provided a privileged forum for reflection on APAVT’s legacy and on the tourism sector’s ability to anticipate change, promote innovation and respond to the challenges of an ever-evolving global context.
IPDAL’s participation reinforced its commitment to economic diplomacy, international cooperation and dialogue between Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia, highlighting the role of tourism as a strategic instrument for bringing countries, cultures and markets closer together.
During the Congress, IPDAL was present with a stand dedicated to promoting tourism destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean, positioning itself as a platform for outreach and engagement between tour operators, travel agents, institutional decision-makers and international partners interested in the region.
This edition was of particular significance as it marked the 50th Congress in APAVT’s history and the sixth to be held in Macau, a destination that symbolises the meeting of cultures and the historical link between Europe and Asia.
The programme included keynote interventions, debates and highly relevant sessions for the sector, as well as networking opportunities and engagement with a wide range of institutional and business stakeholders, contributing to the strengthening of partnerships and the promotion of a strategic and sustainable vision for the future of tourism.
