The President and Secretary-General of the Institute for the Promotion of Latin America and Caraíbas (IPDAL) are scheduled to attend the Ibrahim Governance Weekend 2025, which runs from June 1 to 3 in Marrakech, Morocco.
In this event, we celebrate important figures such as:

  • Dr. Mo Ibrahim, Entrepreneur and Founder of CENTEL
  • Josep Borrel, Former High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Business and Security Policy
  • Filipe Nyusi, Former President of Moçambique
  • Pedro Pires, Former President of Cape Verde
  • Carlos Lopes, Former Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Africa

This meeting brings together African leaders, international decision-makers, academics and civil society representatives to discuss the challenges and opportunities of financing for sustainable development in Africa.

This year’s edition is based on the report “Africa Finance: Where is the money?”, published in 2024, which denounces the growing gap between the financial needs of the continent and the resources actually available. The discussion focuses on Africa’s urgency to mobilize its own resources, reduce external dependence and attract private capital strategically.

The participation of IPDAL reinforces the commitment of the institution to intercontinental dialogue, promoting bridges between Africa, Latin America and Europe in the domain of governance, financing and strategic cooperation.
