Dionísio Andrade is an Advisor at the Assembly of the Republic, where he accompanies the Parliamentary Group of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) in the Education and Science Committee and the Culture, Communication, Youth and Sports Committee.
Previously, Dionísio Andrade worked at the Madeira Regional Development Institute, the management authority for European Funds in the Autonomous Region of Madeira. With responsibilities in the area of planning and monitoring, he participated in the preparation of the Madeira 2030 Program, the main instrument for operationalizing the economic, social and territorial development strategy of the Autonomous Region of Madeira in the 2030 horizon.
Dionísio Andrade began his career at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), more specifically at the OECD Center for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities. During this period, he participated in the management of the OECD Local Development Forum, a space that brings together representatives from national and regional governments, chambers of commerce, companies and NGOs.
Born in Funchal, on the island of Madeira, Dionísio Andrade has a degree in Political Science and International Relations from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a master’s degree in Economics and Public Policies from ISCTE-IUL. He also has an executive master’s degree in Business Management from ISCTE-IUL Executive Education (in partnership with the University of Madeira).
During his academic career, Dionísio Andrade also lived in the Czech Republic, Brazil and Cambodia, where he was a primary school teacher in the latter two countries.
